The Ocean Feels Like Home

Image
There is something about the sea mist on my face, the waves crashing into the land with unabashed recklessness, the sand in my toes . . . it just feels like home.  Throughout my life, there have been times good and bad where I've found myself sitting before the ocean and felt a sense of peace wash over me. The sound of the rushing water calms my nerves.  The power of those waves reminds me to harness my internal strength.  The vastness of the horizon is a testament to just how far life extends beyond our reach. The ocean calls to me in a way not many things do.  At times I yearn to share it with those I love, others I want to enjoy it alone.  But either way, it always feels like home.

Fall In The Pacific Northwest

If you blink you may miss it The transition from summer to fall One day the trees are full and green The next they're bare and dull But if you're quick, you just might see The reds and oranges unfold As the leaves fall slowly to the ground A story will be told Of the biting wind that nips the nose Of the sound of crunching under toes
